Summer Fun: Oxford Farmers' Market

Friday, August 4, 2017

Saturday mornings in the summer bring Oxford residents Uptown for an enjoyable and refreshing start to the day at the Oxford Farmers’ Market. Nothing beats the quiet streets in the Uptown Business District and the beauty of a sunny morning. Come meet friends and neighbors Uptown for brunch and shopping at this community favorite!

Oxford, Ohio’s Farmers’ Markets are held in Uptown Parks every Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the summer and fall.

Weekly markets host a variety of vendors selling local products. You can find anything from bouquets of flowers to raw honey to handmade pottery. Options for fresh food include pastries, vegetables, fruit jams, breads and many more.

Shop around for some handmade goods made by local artists. Woven baskets, pottery and jewelry are always a favorite among the community. And in the middle of shopping you can take a moment to enjoy some music from local musicians, as well as cooking demonstrations.

Need something for the kids to do while you browse all the locally-grown/made goodies? The Farmers Market also offers the Young Sprouts program where kids can have educational fun. For example, tomorrow on August 5th, your little gals and guys can learn how to thrash wheat with program leader Maegan Burkhart.

When you're done filling your bags with all the best the farmers market can offer, stick around tomorrow for the annual uptown event, Dog Days of Summer. There will be sidewalk sales, a puppy parade, music, and more. There's always something for everyone at the uptown farmers market, so bring the whole family and have the perfect Saturday every Saturday!
