Miami University Alumni Weekend 2023 is fast approaching! It will be held on the weekend of June 9th & 10th, 2023. Not a Miami Alumni? No worries! You are invited to join in on the fun, too!...
January can sometimes be a bit of a bummer. All of the excitement of the holidays are behind us, not to mention it's really, seriously, cold. We understand the temptation to pull the covers over your head and stay warm and cozy in bed like a cinnamon bun.
But this January we're changing all of that with a brand new, four-day event that will definitely get you out from under the covers. Say hello to Conquer Cabin Fever. Organizations from all throughout Oxford that you know and love have partnered together to sponsor different days and activities to make up this nearly week-long event. And thanks to the Chamber of Commerce there will also be several restaurants offering deals throughout this long weekend.
Read the entire event schedule below, then make sure to mark your calendars and come out in January to beat the winter blues!
Some of our hotels are offering special rates for this event. Scroll to the very bottom for details.
NINJA OBSTACLE COURSE
Uptown Parks (2 E. High St.)
4 PM - 9 PM
What better way to stay warm on a chilly January evening than by trying your ninja warrior skills on a giant obstacle course? Bring the kids uptown and let them run around to get all of that pent up winter energy out.
There will be competitions with prizes for different age brackets, so everyone will have the chance to jump, climb, swing, balance, and more!
This event is free.
Sponsored by the Oxford Parks and Recreation Department
SNOWSHOES, HOT CHOCOLATE & WINTER BIRDS
TRI Community Center (6025 Fairfield Rd.)
10 AM - 1 PM
Due to weather, Saturday morning activities will be moved INDOORS at the TRI. This means the sled dogs will have to stay home but we'll still have interactive snowshoe demonstrations, hot chocolate, and winter birds from Hueston Woods!
This event is free.
Sponsored by Enjoy Oxford
CHOCOLATE MELTDOWN
Oxford Community Arts Center (10 S. College Ave.)
1 PM - 5 PM
Want to stay warm and satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time? Look no further than the Chocolate Meltdown fundraiser. The ballroom at the Oxford Community Art Center will be lined with vendors handing out samples of their chocolate treats, from candy to baked goods. There will also be a raffle, a bake-off, children's activities, and an art exhibit. Plus, new this year is the Chocolate Bar featuring specialty chocolate liquors, wines, ports and beers (sample pour tickets available for purchase at the bar).
Sponsored by the Oxford Community Arts Center and the Miami University Art Museum
FOOTBALL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES
Uptown Parks (2 E. High St.)

Mobile Game Party is coming to Oxford! This mobile game theater will keep you warm as you sit inside and play games on one of four 55-inch hi-def LCD monitors!
While the kids are playing in the game theater, the adults (ages 21+) can enjoy craft beer sold by Books and Brews while watching one of the Football Conference Championship games (kick-off is 3:05 PM). The game will be played on a large screen TV on the side of the mobile game theater. You can also play in a FREE cornhole tournament beginning at 4 PM. There will be prizes!
