Family Weekend 2018 is almost here!
From Friday, Sept. 28 to Sunday, Sept. 30, get ready for Miami University families to flock to Oxford. As a student myself, my favorite part about family weekend is being able to have my friends' families and my family all hang out together! Last year, my friends, our families and I spent the weekend popping between all the different events and checking out our favorite shops and restaurants. Even though Family Weekend can get super busy, it's definitely one of my favorite weekends!
Here's a quick rundown of some of the events happening this Family Weekend that you won't want to miss. (For the full list of events click here.) All community members are welcome to all of these events!
When: Friday, Sept. 28 from 3-6 p.m.
Where: Armstrong Student Center Atrium (550 E. Spring St.)
Don't forget to stop by the welcome center in Armstrong when you first arrive. Here you can find information about all the fun events taking place for Family Weekend. You can also enjoy some free refreshments while you plan your weekend!

Be sure to check out the 5th Annual Chinese Festival Celebration, hosted by the Miami University Confucius Institute! From 2-4 p.m. on Cook Field, enjoy some Chinese Martial Arts and kite-flying before you head to Uptown Parks for more cultural activities and performances. There will be games, raffles, food tastings, and more! The celebration is completely free, and everyone is invited to participate. It's a great way to learn something new about Chinese culture!

Support our local farmers, bakers, and artisans at the Oxford Farmers' Market. Many of the farmers are certified organic. Rain or shine, take a hike to support Paws for a Cause Miami, a student organization dedicated to caring for and training future service dogs. There is a 1-, 3- and 5-mile option for all experience-levels of hikers! Explore Oxford's trails and learn from various demonstrations while supporting Miami's service dogs. It's free to all with no registration required; just show up and enjoy. For more information, click here.
