With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s time to start planning date night! An evening out in Oxford is guaranteed fun. Not sure where to take your significant other? Let us help you out!
The First Date
If you made the move to make Valentine’s Day your first date, you will want to plan something fun. A casual date is a great place to start! Start your evening at Quarter Barrel sharing appetizers and lavosh with your date. After you fill up on delicious food, head over to You’re Fired to paint some pottery. You are bound to enjoy this activity even if you aren’t a pro. Feeling extra romantic? Paint something for your date and exchange pottery pieces when you are finished!
The Miami Merger
Are you one of the 14 percent of Miami alumni who is married to another alum? Or, do you want to be one of the 14 percent? If so, you will want to stick to the classics. For a classic meal, head over to Bagel & Deli to get your favorite bagel. Not sure which to choose? This weekend may be the time to try the Redhawk Reuben or the Alumni bagel. After you’ve made your decision, stroll down High Street to the Formal Gardens. Have any other special locations on Miami’s campus? Visit them! Of course, make sure to end your evening under the Upham Arch. Because, well, you’re a Miami Merger.
The Outdoor Lover
If you don’t mind the wintery temps, this weekend is a great opportunity to take your Valentine on an outdoorsy date they will never forget! Drive over to Hueston Woods for some hiking and sight-seeing. After your outdoor adventures, head into the Lodge to snuggle up by the giant fire place overlooking the lake. To finish your date, stop in Kofenya to warm up with some delicious coffee and a cozy atmosphere. We recommend ordering a bottomless so that you and your date have plenty of coffee while you sit and chat!
If you are more of a classic romantic, Oxford has plenty of options to make your evening grand. Before picking up your date, stop by the Oxford Flower and Gift shop to get a beautiful arrangement for your beautiful date! Enjoy a classic Italian meal at Paesano’s Pasta House, complete with wine and dessert. After dining, enjoy walking through Uptown’s twinkling lights hand-in-hand as you window shop. This is guaranteed to be a success!
