Apple Butter Festival
Step back into 19th-century farm life during the Oxford Museum Association’s 61st annual Apple Butter Festival, held Saturday, Oct. 17, and Sunday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hueston Woods Pioneer Farm. Traditional apple butter-making anchors the two-day event, which also includes pioneer farm experiences, live entertainment, food, vendors and family activities.
Apple Butter and Pioneer Farm Life
Watch a favorite fall tradition unfold as apple butter is prepared in pioneer fashion from noon to 3 p.m. each day. The festival will also feature demonstrations of spinning, weaving and blacksmithing.
Beyond the demonstrations, tours will be conducted through the mid-1800s Doty Homestead and Pioneer Barn, where museum artifacts offer a closer look at 19th-century farm life. You can also visit the Township House, another historic building at the Pioneer Farm.
Daily Entertainment
Enjoy live music and other programming on both days of the festival. The daily schedule includes a performance by Kodie Montana from 10 a.m. to noon, an appearance by a park naturalist from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. and a performance by Wild Water Bluegrass Band from 2 to 4 p.m.

You’ll find plenty more to explore throughout the festival grounds. Browse handmade arts and crafts from participating vendors and shop for apple butter and other fall favorites, including fresh apples, apple cider, pumpkins, gourds and seasonal produce. Kettle corn, funnel cakes and other food options will also be available. If you’re bringing the family, round out your day with activities for children and a stop to see the alpacas.

The Apple Butter Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday, Oct. 17, and Sunday, Oct. 18, at Hueston Woods Pioneer Farm (6924 Brown Road). Admission is $5 per adult or $10 per car; children younger than 12 are admitted free. Proceeds support the Oxford Museum Association’s educational and historic preservation activities.
