Friday, October 6th:
Rec Center Open
6 a.m.-8 p.m., Rec Center
All parents, family members, and guests visiting Oxford for Homecoming are welcome to visit the Rec Center for the special rate of $6 per person, per day. Visitors are welcome to use the fitness center, basketball courts, indoor tract, aquatic center and more!
Brick & Ivy Campus Store Open
8:30 a.m.-8 p.m., Shriver Center
Miami University Art Museum Galleries Open
10 a.m.-5 p.m., Richard and Carole Cocks Art Museum, 801 S. Patterson Ave.
Family Weekend Welcome Center
1-3 p.m., Armstrong Atrium
Kick-off Family Weekend by visiting Miami Activities and Programming in the Armstrong Student Center. Grab a sweet treat, pick up your Family Weekend Ticket Package gift, and get all the information your family might need to make sure you have an awesome weekend!
Family Weekend Picnic – MAP Family Meal + MUSF Auction
5-7 p.m., Academic Quad
You’re invited! Bring your family or friends to the Family Weekend Picnic on Academic Quad near Harrison Hall. Enjoy music, lawn games, and food!
Asian Cultural Festival 2023
5-8 p.m., Uptown Parks
Wander through a multitude of booths, each representing a different Asian country. Learn about Asian history and traditions, play friendly games, and forge new connections. You can also watch dances performed by talented university students and external artists. Join for an event that transcends borders and bridges cultures!
Family Weekend Sukkot Shabbat!
6:30 p.m., Hillel at Miami – 11 E Walnut St.
All are welcome to join Hillel at Miami for a delicious home cooked (kosher) meal in our sukkot for this special Family Weekend Friday Night Shabbat. Optional Shabbat services will begin at 6:30 p.m. with dinner to begin at 7 p.m.

From his rise to fame to his unprecedented superstardom, rock ‘n’ roll icon Elvis Presley maintains a complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker, over the course of 20 years. Central to Presley’s journey and happiness is one of the most influential people in his life — Priscilla. The movie is free; popcorn and water $1, at the Oxford Community Arts Center.

Global Initiatives Open House

Families are invited to join the Education Abroad staff for coffee and donuts Saturday morning! Learn more about our academic programming and partnerships, and get answers to your questions about study abroad at this open house.
Oxford Farmers Market
9 a.m.-Noon, Uptown at Church St. and Main St.
Fresh, local, seasonal foods, and goods from friends and neighbors at the Saturday Oxford Farmers Market.
M.O.V.E. Boot Camp
10 a.m., Dauch Indoor Sports Center
Come join the President and Dr. Crawford for your morning exercise and fun at the semester’s second M.O.V.E. Bootcamp. Each participant will receive a Crawford Collection giveaway, which is different for each Bootcamp. The Crawfords can’t wait to see you there!
58th Annual Apple Butter Festival
10 a.m.-5 p.m., Hueston Woods Pioneer Farm, 6924 Brown Rd, Oxford, OH
Admission: $5 per adult or $10 per car
Children under 12 free
The Hueston Woods Apple Butter Festival provides a vignette of 19th century farm life and features continual creation of apple butter in the pioneer fashion throughout the event. A great family activity conveniently located for Butler & Preble County residents. In addition to apple butter sales, a wide variety of apples, cider, pumpkins and gourds can be purchased on the grounds, with a new addition of a beer and wine garden! Tours are conducted through the Doty homestead and the barn, both of mid 1800’s vintage and exhibiting a broad display of museum artifacts. Each year demonstrations of pioneer crafts are featured along with a theme program.

NOTE ABOUT PARKING: From noon Friday, Oct 6 to 7 am Monday morning Miami University will have free parking on all streets and lots on campus, except for those around Millett Hall and Yager stadium. No parking permits required; parking meters, the Passport parking app and garages are all free as well. Parking meters will be enforced Uptown.
