Dog Days of Summer

Dog Days of Summer is sponsored by Oxford Veterinary Hospital and hosted by the Oxford Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the community and local businesses in Uptown Park. Begin your day at the farmers market (9am-noon), watch the dog parade, check out the sidewalk sales, and more to explore while you’re there! Stop by our office (14 W. Park Pl.) for a local fold-out map guide around town.

Dog Days Parade (10:00 am):

Anyone is welcome to join the parade! Show up with your dog outside Chase Bank at 10am to kick off the Dog Days of Summer event. Prizes for parade participants will be awarded under the following categories: tallest dog, longest tail, and best costume. Does your buddy have what it takes?!

(CANCELLED effective 08/02/24) Looking for a furry companion? Be sure to say hello to the cutest dogs by the Animal Adoption Foundation for a memorable “got-you day”! Have a furry friend and are interested in training? Hamilton Dog Training will be showing off dog training demonstrations.

Once you’re exhausted from all the cute dogs (who am I kidding?!) this is a perfect time to check out Oxford’s local businesses (see below) for back-to-school shopping with your favorite drink to cool off from the summer heat and enjoy the show!
